Bates Hundo reels feature an aluminum frame, fully CNC’d from 6061-T6 bar stock on their 9 axis machine. They are roughly twenty percent smaller than other reels in the same size class. A fancy CNC’d frame isn’t the only great feature. This reel utilizes the Bates dual braking system along with a shallower spool to enable the use of very light tackle and allow you to easily dial in lighter lines and lures. This reel also features upgraded internal components as well, including lighter aluminum gears and improved bearings, which are a combination of 10 HAC Stainless Steel bearings plus 2 high precision NMB ball bearings, and 1 one-way Stainless Steel ball bearing. If your target species or preferred rigging demands a lighter, but more fine-tuned machine, you won’t be disappointed in the Hundo.
